Backpack Society is a non-profit that is driven by a single goal to remove food insecurity as an obstacle for children so they can grow, learn, and thrive. With the support of volunteers, the community & partnerships with local schools, we provide food to kids on weekend & breaks, when they don't have access to it at school.
We have several programs:
-Bag Program: We pack bags of food and deliver them to schools to be put in students backpacks so they have enough food for the weekend.
-Family Box Program: We pack boxes of food for the whole family with fresh produce, meat, eggs, milk and non-perishable items taking into consideration allergies. Families can sign up for the boxes weekly and pick them up on Thursday nights.
-School Pantries: We provide food for schools so they can provide snacks or emergency food for students at their school.
-Crisis Boxes: Backpack Society packs boxes of food and toilitries for a family or student to get through 24 hours in an emergency situation.
At Backpack Society we're collecting food donations and raising funds for students who are struggling with food insecurity.
We partner with schools in Douglas County & Littleton Public School Districts to reach students in need.
We are a 100% volunteer & community supported nonprofit based in Highlands Ranch.
